GN shipped a bentonite mud treatment system to our Russian client this week. They made a test in GN plant before shipment, which is successful and approved by their engineer.

Bentonite mud Before Treatment:
The bentonite solids content by weight is 6%,water is 94%,  the maximum particle size is 1mm.
Target they want to achieve : solids 50% , water 50%, the max particle size is under 2μm.

Bentonite mud After Treatment:
The water content in the mud by weight is approx 50%, the remain particle size is 2μm, basically achieve the processing target.

Processing rate: 30m³/h
 

The bentonite mud treatment system is consisted of the following equipments:
1 Desilter( 4” cone x 3), one 4” cone as spare cone.
2 GLW355x1250N high speed decanter centrifuge
3 Submersible slurry pump, 2 sets, 1 sets as feeding pump of desilter, 1 set as feeding pump of centrifuge.
4 Mud tank, including handrail, walkway, pipeline, valves, clean gate, ladders, etc.

 
Working principle:

One pump feed the bentonite mud from first compartment to the desilter, then the particle size larger than 15μm can be separated, the clean mud droped into the desilter compartment.

The other pump feed the mud from the desilter compartment to the decanter centrifuge, the particles larger than 2μm are separated. The clean mud droped into the centrifuge compartment. It can flow to other tanks through pipelines.
